FJ1100 I'm using Duro F - 120 x 80 16" HF918. R - Duro 150 x 80 16" BLVD X896

FJ1200 Metzler Marathons F - 120 x 70 17". R - 150 x 80 16"

I'm quite happy with the performance of both brands but then I don't ride anywhere near 10/10ths. I can't comment on longevity as they are fairly new.

My previous FJs (2) I used Dunlop Sportmaxx. These were great all rounders but not available here anymore in 16" sizes. I would get 15000klm rear and 17000klm front.

I had a set of Metzeler Lasertecs that came on my first FJ. I really didn't have any complaints about them. I replaced them when I wore them out with Avon Azaros, which I preferred greatly.

I've gone through two sets of Lasertecs.  I got very high mileage and good wet weather performance.  Old technology but reliable.  A more touring than sport tire.  I switched to the Avons listed above this year cuz I've never had radials, and they were also cheaper than the Lasertecs oddly.  I don't know what mileage I will get ultimately, but the handling and ride comfort is much improved.  I have a bone stock suspension also on my '92 ABS.

There are a few members that run the Metzeler Lasertecs on the 16" rims. I am sure the rubber compound has changed from 30 years ago when the tire was a very common choice. I have also come across a tire model that is of the same type of "old school" design that was also a very popular tire 30 years ago. The Continental TKV11/12 tires. The front is offered in a 110, but IMO with the 2.75" wide wheel, that should not be a problem. The rear is OEM size 150
