Doing a compression test on a 88 FJ1200 returned values of between 80-90psi which seems a little low for my taste

Test was done cold with all the plugs out.

are these values correct? should this test be done with a hot motor?

The readings are usually better on a warm engine.

Did you open the throttle to allow air into the cylinder while doing the test?
