I have to have the X pipe. With all those marvelous improvements it would still be worth removing it every time I wanted to change my oil.    Dave
A pistol is like a parachute, if you need one and don't have one you will never need one again.

All kidding aside.......I am not sure how they were able to get a Patent on the 'X' Pipe.  :sorry:

I know for a FACT that Kerker made an X-Pipe (4-1-2) for the FJ's back in 1988. :unknown:

Here is a photo of your's truely in 1988 with a Kerker X-Pipe on my 1100

Did you notice on the x pipe that the entire system is supported off the head studs.....such a marvelous design :bad:

I've been messing around with motorcycle and cars for a few 24's, and the "H" pipe design was always for mid-range torque.

Better mid-range torque, nothing more, nothing less.

i think you would find better gains using a Turbo Encabulator:

little pricey though

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

Lamborgini started off making tractors and combines and other agristuff.  I don't know if Audi bought the whole lot or just the auto part.  Whichever, it's not too shabby to be compared to a Lambo.

My Guzzi has an H pipe.  My Norton had an H pipe.  Both from the '70's.
The factory publicity was usually along the lines of "...increased torque... ".  Factory insiders (in the days when the factories were just round the corner) mostly said they were for noise compliance.
I'm in UK and worked near BSA and the old Norton works at Bracebridge St.  The Guzzi factory is a days ride.  A long day.
It's unlikely I ever get to Japan.

Sorry for dragging up an old topic, I'm new and reading through the back catalogue.
Thanks for the entertainment guys!
