Greetings to one'n'all,

Just a quickie (oo-er missus), to introduce myself.

I owned an FJ a few years ago and stupidly got rid of it for a BMW K100RT.  What a bloody heap of junk that was. The FJ was a 3CV if memory serves me and I regretted getting rid of it almost straight away.

Anyway, I've got another one now. I picked up a 1990 3CV with 11,100 miles on the clock in superb condition and am loving being back on such a good rocketship.

Anyone got any comments on changing the 3CV engine mounts for 3XW ones?

Mart, welcome back to FJ ownership. Randy at www.RPMracingca.com was developing some mounts to retrofit the earlier FJs with rubber mounts. Last I heard was he was not finding the right material. It was either too soft and it fell apart or too hard and not much different than a solid mount. Right now your best bet is a good carb sync, many have reported a smoother engine after a carb sync.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome Mart  :hi:

As mentioned a good carb sync will do wonders for vibration. Also add some bar end vibration eliminators , foam grips and wear padded gloves . That will make the fj more bearable on long rides and high rpm screaming runs. works for me.

Welcome to the forum.  :hi:

I have a 3CV and agree with the earlier comments. A good carb synch will do wonders for vibration and the bar end vibranators. Here is the link for the vibranators.
