WARPED ROTORS

From day one when I put some wave rotors on coupled with R1 calipers and pads that came with them and a new master I have been getting juddering and pulsing from applying the front brake. If I apply it very hard I don't really notice it but when I use it gently just to slow down it is very annoying to the point where I only use the back brake.
If the rotors are not warped what do you folks think will cause this I have contemplated worn fork bushes and loose steering bearings but would like your opinions. Thanks

Still sounds like at least 1 warped rotor. Check that the calipers are centered, and that you don't have a stuck piston. Does the wheel spin easy? Possibly steering stem bearings loose or badly worn. While you have the front wheel off the ground move the forks forward and back, how much play are you getting? Were the rotors new? You said to used the pads that came with calipers. With the front wheel off the ground slowly spin the wheel while applying light brake pressure. If you get a find a tight spot then most likely a rotor or two. The pads are used, how many miles have you put on them?

More than one person doing the R1 caliper swap have been burned by re-using the pads that came with the calipers.  You have no idea the history of those pads - when the calipers were removed how much care was taken to ensure they were not contaminated with fluid?  What compound pad is in the calipers?  Is the compound suitable for your new disks?  how much issue does it cause when a pad is bedded in on one disk, then moved to another?  Could it cause warping of the new disks?  Too many questions for me to be happy accepting -- try again with new pads -- they aren't that much $$ considering how critical they are.

Hold on there partner!!!

Your post said that you had a problem when using the front brake. Then you mention the rear Suzuki rear caliper... Are you asking about the front or both?

This should work for the front http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3AFA252HH&cat=39

I had the pulsing front disc symptom on my bike and thought it was a warped disc (They were new as were the pads) and traced it down to the Forks not being set at exactly the same height in the Clamps. Trust me millimetres make a huge difference. I reset the height and almost (but not entirly) eliminated the issue. I think the remaining issues may actuall be my mastercylinder - air in the hose)

OK  It seems I have fixed the problem Snugged the disc bolts down more and it was made worse Took off front wheel and removed discs care passed a flat fine file over mounting flanges and cleaned the back of the disc mounting surface.Changed disc bolts to ones with bigger flange, cleaned calipers and pads and discs. Considered using a bedding compound like the type used between stock and action of a rifle but didn't. Anyway brake up front works fine now wit no viberation what was the cure who knows

Happy to hear your problem is gone. Too bad we don't know the root cause for future reference. Thanks for posting your solution.
