NorwayFredrik

Hello all, my name is Fredrik and i have an FJ
i ride around in Lillehammer on my FJ everyday,

in may i got the motorcycle permit here in norway and in june i went on a motorcycle trip with my dad to england for a week (white cliffs of dover -> the lands end and other places) rented two suzuki V-strom 650's (brilliant bikes!)
i got to say, the roads in england are the best ive ever leaned on, it was also really cool to ride on the left which is not right..!

back home in the shed was the old yamaha FJ which was mine now, thanks dad :yahoo:
needed new tires and was good to go, on the road every day since then :)

The bike is an FJ 84 1100 with 1200 engine and brakes, the clock has been around one time, and is at 160.000 now i guess (behind the cracked dash screen)

on my first trip i really got a feel for it when i had to lean it down in the first corner, this bike is Big and Heavy but i LOVED it, compared to other bikes ive ridden, this was way more fun in my opinion, and the trottle is unbelievable  :shok: sounds great too  :music:

i'm now going to change the fork seals this week because both my forks are leaking, recieved fork seals from RPM fast and painfree :)
really looking forward to owning this bike for a loooong good time, think i will buy another bike, light weight two stroke for the winters, if i dont ride in the winter i dont ride alot or what, thats all for now  :bye:

Great introduction, welcome to the digital FJ campfire. I look forward to seeing ride reports from you and the wonderful country you ride in.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome Fredrik!

I am descendants of Norway by way of my grandmother, Lorna.
She was a short, feisty woman that could cook like nobodies business.
The way I understand family bloodlines, that makes me 1/4 Norwegian.
Thanks for the wonderful pictures, I would truly love to see Norway in person.

You have a hand me down FJ? That is great! Take care of her and please continue to share your riding adventures with us here.

Welcome Fredrik, yes our FJ's are heavy bikes, compared to today's offerings. With modern 17" radial tires and a proper suspension, they are very, very stable....rock stable....but still heavy.

Hook up with Martin, see if you guys can find a MSF course to attend together.

Be careful, never ride in a hurry and ride well.

Cheers. Pat

Hey! Lillehammer? Me too! And apart from the mirrors (mine aren't original either), our bikes looks exactly the same! We should take a ride. Har hatt lappen en mnd lenger enn meg du da, fikk min i juni. :good2: Kjørte du med Dahlsveen/Olsen?

Hey Fredrik
Welcome to this nice group of FJers,
Even though I am listed as being in Iceland I work in Norway and had my bike shipped over and use my spare time to wander around your country
I work mostly in Oslo (Gardermoen) and sometimes in Trondheim too, It would be nice to meet some day for a cup of coffee half way between Lillehammer and Oslo -is time permits, and exchange FJ stories.

Mvh,
Magnus

The General

Hi guys, I love hearing and seeing other parts of the FJ world...even coffee shops....and especially scenes from unusual places like Norway and Iceland.

I recently viewed a story of one of your countrymen still racing speedway at the age of 96! Here is the link:
http://www.norwegian.com/magazine/features/2015/07/the-worlds-oldest-speedway-rider
(I have no idea what he eats.....but I want some!)

I`m betting your coffee would be very different from ours down here.....esp given you guys came from someone`s armpit originally! (According ta Nordic Mythology?)

It would be terrific to see any pics you have, esp FJ rides or scenery.     :drinks:

there are two red and white Yamaha FJ's just in lillehammer, how cool is that? COOL! :good:
we drink our coffee black :bomb: maybe that is what the old swede drinks!!

i forgot to add photos of my FJ on my last reply, so here are one with scenery and another from my point of view.

Looking north over Mjøsa, Norways biggest lake.

My phone as GPS speedometer, more accurate (~5km\h less on dash)
i like the way my mirrors work, horizontal on the left and vertical on the right.
