My son and I are planning to start a motorcycle/tent camping adventure in about 3 weeks.  Me on my '89 Grey Ghost FJ and him on his black Triumph triple.
We'll meet-up in Spokane WA and put Yellowstone Nat Park at the Easterly end of our trek.

If any of you have ridden that country could you suggest any routes/sites?

If you are coming back via Missoula then consider going down to Lolo and take hwy 12 to Lewiston. Spectacular road. 60 miles of down hill sweepers along the Clearwater.  IMO in Yellowstone between Fishing bridge and the East entrance is uninteresting.  A lot of fire damage. Check out the Lodge in Yellowstone for sure.  Lot prettier going South down to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole (the uppies changed it to just Jackson).....  Nice lodge in the Grand Tetons also.

You probably won't see any Harley's   .  It will be a parade.

If you are over 62 get a Senior Park pass. https://store.usgs.gov/pass/senior.html. One of the better deals in life.

One of my best memorys is the ride from Yellowstone to Cody Wy. The Buffalo Bill museum is a great place to visit if you are into the old west.

Thank you, George. Gonna get me one of those old-folks goodies tomorrow.

:good2:  It has saved me a lot of money over the years. It is good for a life time.  If in a car it will admit your passengers also for free even if they are younger.
Used it at Lake Mead, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Badlands to name a few and used it many times in all but one of those places.

I was there pre-pass many years ago. Only been to the top of the Sun hwy. Never have been East of that point. If camping stop by the visitors center and get the "Bear lecture".   They are hungry.... :)

I got a bear lecture once.
The Ranger told us to wear bells on our cap and carry pepper spray.
He said there were two species in the area, Grizley and Brown bear. He said the griz do not consider people to be prey, but they are territorial and if you walk up on one and startle it you are not likely to fare well in the engagement. Hence the bells.

The black bear, he told us, DOES consider humans as prey so you'll have a fight on your hands if you run into one. Hence the pepper spray..

Then he told us to watch for "scat" on the trail. Bear shit with berries or vegetable matter was probably Griz.  Black bear shit has little bells in it and smells like pepper spray.

You know what the bear said.... "they all taste like chicken"..
