Greetings, everyone.

New owner from Norway. Felt it was time for an introduction. 25 years old, living in the olympic city of Lillehammer. Bought my first bike this easter. An 85' FJ 1100.
It has always been a dream for me to own that exact bike, as my father has had FJ's while I was growing up, and I have ridden many miles on the back.

Last thursday was a big day for me (04.06.15). After a lifetime of waiting, I finally received my motorcycle drivers license. Finally I got to ride my bike, and the first ride went to my original hometown of Kongsberg (about 420 km total there and back again). The sun was shining and everything was right the entire way. Made a few stops along the road and just enjoyed life. In Kongsberg I met up with my father and his '02 FJR 1300, and he followed me half the way back. Being able to finally ride my own bike alongside was just incredible. Thursday was a good day.

Here's a picture of our bikes at one of our stops, and another picture of my bike.

After I have been riding almost everyday, and the bike is acting perfect. Looking forward to the rest of summer!

Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...

Welcome Martin, my favorite colors. Your FJ looks clean well cared for. Happy to have you join our digital campfire.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Hi Martin and welcome
This is a good group of people you have joined here, I am sure you already know that
All are eager to help the fellow FJ-er in times of trouble or to have fun with their bikes  :good2:

Although I am listed as being in Iceland I have my FJ here in Norway for the summer because I work here, mostly at Gardermoen and also in Trondheim
It would be fun to meet some day half way between Oslo and Lillehammer for a cup of coffee  :morning1: and to exchange FJ stories
I have only come across two other FJ owners here in Norway so far (on this forum, that is) but never actually met one.

Enjoy your FJ now that you Have "Lappen" but be careful those bikes are a handful for being first bike to have  :praising:

Welcome Martin. Enjoy that bike. Be careful. Never ride in a hurry.
See if there is a MSF course you can attend.

Ride well.
