Hi all I have been introduced to this website by my brother may I say it's a little ripper  I have an FJ Yammi affectionately call Effy that could be of interest to date he has done 585000 kilometers that's right over half a million ks between my btother and I Effys been around Australia 1.5 times, street raced , drag raced rally bashed, hill climed , thrashed smashed fixed and done it over and over my old mate is now in its 2nd rebuild or 3rd life and semi retired he don't look like much until you put your wow specs on theres been a lot of work done to him he's what I call a 2 wheeled hot rod Effy is also the only vehicle that I've taken over thay magical 200mile an hour barrier I think my old FJ 11is a bit of a freak hope you all like this little snipit

Welcome Wingnut, your Effy sounds like it's had an interesting life, got any pics of it. I had a Honda 750  bol'dor when I was younger that got much of the same treatment, commuter, dirt drags competitor, grass hill climb hopeful, and of course street racer. Tried to kill it but couldn't, sadly long gone.

To those people who red my first intro to this website I must admit I didn't expect such a good response one question was asked how did I get 200 miles an hour out of an FJ Yammi first I geared down to the lowest toothed sprocket for the rear wheel I could get off the shelf and a drive sprocket too match then when I got the engine rebuilt the first time I had all the gears rea cut and set as the first time round the motor had done over 270000 ks I left nothing to chance everything was done to make the bike breath fire and take a thrashing I could bore the pants off you with all the stuff that has been done so I'll keep it brief ... sort of . After the engine was done I bought a wrecked 88 FJ12 with lots of yummy bits on it like Ohlens rear suspension system the entire front end that had been tweaked I also bough a JMC swing arm needles to say it took hundreds of hours putting my old mate back together I also got a set of 38mill flat slide smooth bores to give the bike more punch and coupled up with ground cams that are slotted so I can advance the cam timing up to 110 degrees not advise able it put a lot of strain on things it gives you the sensation of a monster power band like a 2 stroke I did this for drag racing otherwise I have the cams set normal as they're done up there's plenty of mumbo without needing more I will put some photos old and new up when I get home from work in a few days till then enjoy!

What an amazing time you and your FJ have had over all those years. Like many here no doubt, I have tried most of those things on large and highly unsuitable road bikes but never all on the one bike, what a history.

I'm sure you have many a tale to tell of your exploits.

It sounds a bit like the axe, had it for thirty years and only put two new heads and 3 new handles on it in all that time.

Look forward to hearing more about its multi function life and how you came to put so many miles on it.
