I think that it may be prudent to first check the rotor's thickness and see where it stands, before embarking on any material removal from them.

Hi!

I replaced my pads on rear caliper few days ago. I bet they were never replaced since factory installed them in 1985 because I bought the bike with less than 10 000 km on it. Pistons were terrible but I managed to work them out by slowly pushing in then pressing the brake to get them out again (but not totally). It was pain in the butt and progress was measured in microns.  :good2: Brake works like new, without any disassembly. I wiped the pistons with cloth before pushing them in and did this all with caliper down just to be easier.

Also, someone mentioned here, check the fluid level in the container. Since you are pushing it back in, maybe it is full and you can't push it because of that.

It would do quite a bit of good to flush all the old fluid out, and bleed the system with fresh fluid also. (especially if the fluid is from 1985  :shok:)
