I have gas coming out of the white T's, the large lines, not the small ones. What does that indicate and where should i start looking. I have the carbs off, they are nice and clean, but seems is missed something. Thanks in advance for the help.

Have the O-rings around the needle seats ever been replaced?  -- fuel leaking AROUND the needle seat and flooding the float bowls.  Replace O-rings

Did this begin after going into the carbs to check the cleanliness?  -- maybe float(s) stuck - fuel flooding the float bowls.  Check float movement, tap float bowls with screw driver handle, ride off a curb

Do you still have the stock airbox?  If so, MAKE SURE you haven't filled the crankcase with fuel!

Good luck!

orings have not been replaced but i can do that today. The thing that confused me .. no fuel coming out the little lines, just out of the big ones. I thought the little ones were the overflow that you would see if you had a stuck float.

Yes, stock pain in the ass airbox is still in there. and thanks for the reminder, i will check the oil.

Might also be the o-rings that seal the carb joining t-pieces, which I think are the white plastic T's you describe.

If they aren't holding pressure it could be over fueling a bit and so leaking as you describe.

It certainly sounds like either the needles seat o-rings or the other ones I mentioned.

Well, i found that the needles, floats, and needle seats are all identical to the ones used on the xs1100 and as luck would have it, I have a new set of needles and seats with oring. So I am putting those in now. I saw a post awhile back of the correct location to measure the float height from, but I can't find it now :(.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. My bike no longer resembles an excited puppy piddling on the floor wherever it is.  :good2:

It seems I am getting much better at pulling and installing the carbs, think it took me less than an hour start to finish. It does help that I had a spare set of carbs so they were ready to go.
