Fuel pup won't turn on with ignition.

Hello gurus. I haven't checked in in a long time but the trusty bike is giving me a headache and I need some help. I searched around but couldn't locate a thread on this.

What would cause the fuel pump to stop activating when you turn on the ignition? With the fuel hoses disconnected and pump running dry, I have traced continuity back to the relay prong and "jumped the pump" alive (very briefly) from that point. Though, nothing happens when I turn the key whether there is pressure on the system or not. What is my next course of action?

Thank You In Advance.

Just to be clear, is your handlebar kill-switch in the "Run" position?
The pump won't run unless it is, when you switch the ignition key on.
