I found these on Ebay.......

http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-85-YAMAHA-FJ1100-ENGINE-GUARDS-SHELF-WH-/271750288746?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f4594556a&vxp=mtr

Does anyone know who manufactured these? Will they fit my 89FJ?

I like the looks of the Rentec engine guards, however I like this price if they will fit well, are effective, and look good!

Bill

I saw those a while back. I'm thinking that the seller has it wrong with their description of what they're selling. I have the OEM engine guards, and I know what the Renntec ones look like. What I see may be supports for some luggage system. I might have this wrong, but they don't look like any engine guards that I've seen, since being involved with FJs.

I'm sure that others may have thoughts on them too.

I would agree, those DO NOT look like engine guards. In the video at the bottom of the eBay page, the FJ has what appears to be the optional OEM Yamaha Chrome engine guards installed.

Fred, I just purchased and installed the OEM engine guards that were on the bike in the video...paid $10!  Left side bar has a little damage from an obvious spill, but for that price I feel like I got a great deal on what will likely be an interim solution until I can get a set of Renntecs!

They are grab rails missing the shelf section. They are not crash bars.
