went to move bike in garage and noticed i had no clutch.opened lid on master cylinder to check fluid.there was fluid but bubbles when pulling lever.i cant see any leaks.i tried bleeding.still no clutch, still bubbles.where would be the first place i should look at?slave, master, line?

Probably the master, if you continuously get bubbles with repeatedly squeezing the lever.  Either rebuilding it by honing the cylinder, and replacement of the piston and seals, or replacement of the entire lever/reservoir assembly, shall be required.  But I'd inspect the slave as well, as they are notoriously unreliable, and it may also need replacing. It sounds like the master though, as I just did mine and that was indeed the symptom.

Good Luck!

Just for the heck of it. Try zip-tying the clutch lever half of the way to the handlebar & leave it overnight to a couple of days. Sometimes this will allow the bubbles to rise to the surface.

Good luck

:morning1: It's a whole lot more likely to be the slave than the master, IMO.

As old as the FJ is now, a new braided line makes a world of difference, as well.

Knowing nothing more than what you said, I'd guess it was the slave.  Master fail on the FJ, but the slaves fail more often.  Look for peeling paint down by the slave, its often a sign that it a) has once leaked or b) is currently leaking.  The good news is that slave rebuild kits can be had from RPM for cheap money.

When I bought my FJ the slave was bad. I ordered a new slave & a braided stainless steel line. I had a lot of trouble bleeding the system until I tried tying the clutch lever halfway back & leaving it overnight.

Here are a couple of options:
