I am wanting to modify my LED tail light and need to seperate the lens from the reflector.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on how to get the two halves apart without destroying either piece??

Heat Fred. Preheat the oven to 225 F. Put it in for 7-8 minutes. Don't go any hotter... Unless you have spares...

Thank you Derek,

The oven and 225*f worked wonders.

Yes, once the adhesive gets up to temperature it gets very flexible.
I forgot to tell you I used the tail light parts I got from you. The LEDs are WAY brighter. My first attempt to split the light apart was after doing some baking at 425. THIS IS TOO HOT! Lets just say its a good thing I had some spare tail lights to work with...

You would get along with my wife.  She puts the oven on 450 to "warm up" left over pizza.

I've tried telling her that 200 is a good warm up temperature.  At 450 she's cooking it to a crisp.

Whenever I try to convince her of this, I just get "The Look"

It seems that I cook everything at high temperature... I am also very familiar with "the look" when I'm cooking...
