sorry I haven't introduce myself properly before. I appreciate the help I received over the last few weeks getting the bike running, Now i'm riding again. I haven't had a bike since 2003-too long. I understand the enthusiasm for the FJ, truly a pleasure to ride-much more fun and comfortable than I expected. I actually had the driver of a car at a stoplight last week yell out --NICE BIKE!--i am sure he has no idea the bike is older than he is! just proves how well the styling has held up. My
17 year old son really digs this bike I will have a tough time keeping him off of it. guess we'll have to find him one! BTW my bike is number 627 of the first year of the 1200.Does anyone have info on the production runs for each year and approximately how many of the earlier models are out there?

Welcome fellow 86' owner.  When I get home I will have to check my production number. Happy you came our of the lurker's closet. Now plan to make a rally near you.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome to the the group !  The FJ's are a nice fit. If I do buy another bike I will keep the FJ.  Just a great "get on and ride" bike.
