Going home its a 3 lane highway with heavy traffic. But it moves around 75-ish. I was far left lane about three car lengths behind nearest car. I guess I wasn't tailgaitng guy in front of me and he was tailgaitng me. Doing about 75 he swerves into my lane with about 5 feet to spare flipping me off. Then trys to take off in his Mini Cooper thinking hes hot shit. After a couple seconds of realizing what just happened I pegged it. Saw speedo was over 100 at one point. I was going to follow him home but decided I have to much to loose. The nervous look he had in the rear view mirror was worth it enough. I doubt the yuppy realized bikes could do that. I am sure he thinks hes the only fast one out there. Got his plate, got home and reported to state patrol. Still shaking

The attitude of some people amazes me sometimes, just don't get what 10 secs quicker to home is going to prove. Ive been in 4 lane highways and people still do that crap. I don't react these days, just ignore and go on my merry way.

The guy is probably used to pissing of harley riders, then getting away in his hot ass mini-cooper, laughing as he goes. Probably also carries a handgun to "defend" himself from bikers. Good call, do not engage unless you have to, let the police handle it. He gets enough complaints, maybe he'll learn, or at least not be on the road for awhile.. :good2:

Not to be a jerk, but why were you hanging out in the far left lane?

It sucks when jerks act like children on the road, but then again he may be on a mini forum right now talking about the jerk hanging in the fast lane on an older sportbike....

No problem and good question. The middle and center lane is always full of semi trucks. Plus if the cars in front of me start taking off i either get over or take off too because i cant stand campers in left lane. This particular case there was nowhere for me to other than ride up and tailgate the guy in front of me. Basically i was givin g myself an "out" by staying a couple extra car lengths back in fast lane. Nobody was going anywhere anyway. Just too crowded. Plus i dont like being cramped up with semis at 70. As soon as this guy passed me he got up on the guy in front of me and rode his ass too. He backed off his aggressive driving when i caught up to him. I saw him in rear view mirror. He had that "ah crap" look.

Totally agree with your actions and your riding habits. In the fast lanes I'm keeping up with traffic but leave extra escape room for any craziness coming my way. Not unusual for cages to pull in front of me just because there's that leeeetle extra space that gets them ahead of the next guy. More power to 'em. I just back off to keep my distance. This guy was a jerk to cut back in that close.  :negative:

This is becoming more and more typical.  You almost have to wear a helmet cam every time you get on the bike.  Even a dash cam in your four wheeled vehicle is almost becoming a requirement.

Even on my ride home from the rally I ran into some total asshats.  One cager in a brand new Tundra pickup took the asshat of the day award.  He for some reason did not want me in font of him for any reason at all what so ever.  So much so, that on several occasions when I managed to get ahead of him with the flow of traffic he would dart across all lanes of traffic from the left lane, causing people to slam on their brakes.  Run up the right shoulder at what I would guess to be over 100mph, dart back across the lanes, causing more people to slam on their brakes and get back into the far left lane.

Rinse and repeat for about 60 miles..  I wasn't doing anything aggressive.. just buzzing along in the center or left lane at the speed of traffic or a little faster if in the left lane.  If I was in the left lane and saw cars coming up on me, I'd move over one lane and let them pass..

A white Mercedes, and a few other drivers obviously had the same feelings and did what they could to keep me in their rear view mirror...just not to the same extreme as the Tundra driver.

Thinking back this behavior only seems to happen when I am riding alone.. I can't recall any times I've ridden with others that this type of stuff happens..

Some people spread hate and discontent everywhere they go. You can't figure it.

You don't have one of those stickers "flipping the bird" do you?

I've stopped using my blinkers on my commute to and from work.

Whenever I signal, it just results in me getting cut off from making a merge.

Also, I have a new attitude for the cagers:  "There's plenty of room behind me!"

I'm constantly amazed at what drivers will do to keep me from passing or merging.  It's like points against them if they let me get by.
