I recently put a new Conti Motion Pro 120/70 R17 (either ZR or VR, cant remember). I'd like to put the same tire on the rear but can't seem to find the 150/80 16 in that brand. There is a Conti Motion sport touring 160/80 16. Will that fit on the 91 FJ1200 without Chain or other interference? Has anyone done this? If so, did it help/hurt the riding stance or handling?

Went to the parking lot and the front is a Conti Motion Z 120/70 ZR17. My current rear tire has lots of tread left but is a Michelin 150/80 B16. Seems to ride and handle well but have heard you shouldn't run Bias/Radial combo? Any thoughts?

I have run a mixed set before with no issues. I don't think you should race with that set up but basic riding will be fine... Its not like the front and rear tires can talk to each other and start an argument...   :ireful:

In fairness, people race all the time with bias rears and radial fronts.

Don't know the law regarding tyres in the USA but here in the UK it's illegal to use a radial front with a crossply rear but is legal to run a crossply front and radial rear.
The former creates a very bad handling bike for some reason, I know because I ran like that for a while until it was pointed out. I wondered why the front had a bad wobble and as soon as I changed tyres it transformed the bike.
Basically it creates a dangerous riding situation and you shouldn't go there.

That depends. If you bought one from Australia and the other from the USA. The Aussie and the Yank would work well together but there would still be an argument.    Dave
A pistol is like a parachute, if you need one and don't have one you will never need one again.

Sounds like since it handles great with my new VR17 front tire and the Michelin B16 rear tire I should just save my money. I'm not much of a cornering dare devil anyway.
