:hi: Finally got myself a 1988 FJ, joined the forum and stripped the whole bike down this weekend ready for a full rebuild in coming months.  I'll be poping back here regularly I expect.

Bantam was the first bike I owned at 11 years old. Me and my dad made a trials bike from it . . great times.

Welcome to the group  :hi:

The 88 is the split year for parts , so does it have a fuel pump or anti-dive front end?

anti-dive =86-87

fuel pump=89-90

Hello there.
Whereabouts in North Wales?  I'm just over the border near Crewe. Also got a 1995 XJR1200 which I built up using as many FJ parts as would fit and that's not many, though it is running with a modded FJ engine with carbs from an 89 3CV and electrics from a 1TX FJ.

Thats interesting, mine has a fuel pump but no anti-dive. I thought the 88 was the 17inch wheel only.  Have to do some reading up.

I'm near to the border in a town called Buckley.  Just found a rechroming service near you though.

Dynasurf by any chance?
If so I've used them a few times myself and have never had problems with their re-chrome.

ok, so you have a 17" front wheel and a fuel pump then your parts are for 89-90 .
