Just saw a pretty disturbing sight while getting gas in my truck with my 16 yr old son today. Three bikes were filling up next to us , two Harley Road Glides and a trike. The three pilots were wearing typical biker attire, chaps, head wraps and jackets with what appeared to be vests with colors on the back. We left and the bikes were close behind. Suddenly the three blew past us on the right two abreast and the trike in tow.Keep in mind this is in town and speed is still 25. They got ahead of us,that's when I saw there colors were just Harley patches, except one had a large white fist flipping the bird. Sorry but I just don't get it.         Ive been riding 40+ years, dirt, street, all kinds of bikes, including Harley's and I'm all about trying not to offend anyone and Have fun riding!  Anyway,I just had to vent on that one. Gonna finish mowing then go for a nice ride on some twisty roads Mr. F-U wouldn't even think of going on. Have a nice day everybody!     Charley

It's just an image they have to live up to.  They've got a " I ride a Harley so I better look and act like a badass " type of attitude. I've known people who were meek and mild, turn loud and obnoxious once dressed up in their leather vest with sew on patches riding their brand new Harley's thinking they own the road. Total fuckwits in my opinion.

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

I wouldn't give 'em the steam off me piss.

Yes, you will get your 4 cylinders singing and you will feel much better.
While riding my Yamaha V-Max in Tacoma, WA, I waved at a fellow biker going the other way, as I always do. He returned the wave until he got closer and recognized my "Jap" bike, then pulled his hand back quickly as if to retract his wave to a non-Harley. Yeah, there are jerks out there, but don't let them ruin your fun. They win if you stay offended.

Last time I gave a "low wave" to an oncoming group of HD's, only the last rider in the gaggle returned the gesture. And they almost lost control of the bike and had to grab the bar again asap, 'cause they were wobbling towards the gravel shoulder. LOL.

I kind of felt bad about that for a while.
Well, a little while.

Well . . . not really at all. Made me grin for the rest of the day.

When I was young, I experienced nice kids...and mean kids just as everyone does.  When people are nice, others are nice in return and they get a little positive reinforcement.  When people are mean, people are mean in return.  I had this Pavlovian theory that this feedback process would sort this all out...that by the time folks were...I dunno...30?...that everyone would be nice.  Not sure why things didn't work out that way.   :scratch_one-s_head:

I'll never forget an overheard conversation in the restroom of a state park. (where's this going). (don't worry, it's not too traumatic).
There I was, delighted to be visiting America's greatest sights and sounds in one of the State parks. It's early morning and I'm dutifully brushing my teeth in preparation for a wholesome day of hiking in mama nature. Suddenly the door bursts open (almost knocked of it's hinges) and in walks 3 fat f**ks dressed exactly as you'd expect. They were laughing their heads off and generally slapping one another in celebration. I thought to myself, well these fine gentlemen must have seen an interesting campsite animal or had an amusing interaction with the park ranger.
'so', boasts the fattest f**k, 'she's in the ladies all confused (he's talking about his biking moll) and she can't open the stalls, so she takes this huge crap in the shower - ha ha ha ha ha.'
1) Your wife must be real classy
2) Would you ever mention it if it happened to you by some totally unavoidable circumstance.
3) You do realize that someone somewhere is going to have to deal with that.
4) What kind of social degenerate actually thinks that's funny and wouldn't hesitate to broadcast that fact that, even sounding proud of the event?

That's what your up against on certain occasions.

I realize its not a perfect world and even though alot of what I see among other bikers does piss me off, I let it go and accept their right to express themselves. But that guys vest was just wrong, any self respecting outlaw bike club probably wouldnt allow this guy to join anyway so he created his own. I also forgot to mention he was wearing one of those skull face coverings... pretty frickin scarry man!     Andy, once when I worked maintanance at a 4 H camp here in Wis. Dells. some nasty kid took a explosive shit in the top tank of one of those pressure assist toilets! I made the camp director buy a new one lol!!! What the hell is funny about that,  oh well strange world and strange people, Im probably one of them.                                                                     Good day all!                                                                                                                                                                                              Charley

Well, they're out there.

My experience is to leave those flying colors (or the bird) alone. My focus is not on that anymore, and I sure can't change them.

There is a percentage will will stomp your ass for fun and literally not think twice about it, and the older I get, the harder it is to heal.....

I had several waves over the past few days for the majority of "motorcyclist" and they can have my attention, if any if going to be given out.....
