I've been fiddling with my carbs on my fj and have had issues getting it running smoothly. I took the carbs apart just to double check and on reassembly I noticed that one of the springs between the throttle tangs was different than the others. I would assume that the previous owner lost a spring and just found one close at a hardware store. It seems to be weaker than the stock springs but does seem to work. Just want a second opinion on whether I should run down a stock spring for it.

Yes you should get a stock spring. That is what keeps Tue carbs properly sync'd
