Hey Randy I've got the 2008 gsxr 1000 front end ready to go for the 89.Made the new handle bars out of the gsxr clippons. And still have to drill the indexing holes. How much did you change the Angle by.
Thanks Dan

Dan, I didn't even measure them.

I just tightened them enough they would stay in place and rotated them to the most comfortable angle, made sure they matched, and used a spring-loaded center punch to mark the spots to drill and tap.

I did the first ones exactly the same as the original fj bars on the 86. Thanks for the tip.

I'll reserve my judgement untill I test ride my bike and an RPM prepped FJ same day, same roads.

I've done it and still won't judge...  my YZF750r front and Thunderace/Ohlins rear '92 and my friend's RPM showcase of an '86.  I've ridden them both over the same roads, same day and they are just so completely different it is tough to say one is better.  I agree with Randy's assessment that my setup is probably superior for road race conditions, but I don't find it bad at all on rough stuff.  My raised rear/short fork/riser bar geometry is also much more to my liking and gives me a relatively twitchy FJ (if there is such a thing).

The '86 is smooth...  it keeps the tires on the ground and your butt in the saddle.  I'm thinking Cadillac as I ride it along, but it doesn't give any stressful moments cornering fast...  It just hangs on and it has the 16"/Avon setup on both ends.  For many I think this setup is the ultimate, no-compromise kind of all around solution for the FJ that gets you closest to the ultimate behavior as designed.

So the choice is of course to the user.  I like Wizard and won't be changing much anytime soon (hopefully).  The buddy I mention also likes his '86 and would say the same.  You're going to need to try it for yourself.
