Hey guys.

My buddy is coming down from Pittsburgh to go on a run with me and another friend at the end of April. He'll be on the FJ.

I figured I'd share my "basic" path with you guys in case you have any wisdom about it.

Any/All comments welcome!!!

The Big Adventure

The First day we'll stop in Amarillo, TX...that's a really hard run, but we're all young guys so I think we can do it :nyam1:

Second Stop is in Roswell, NM...kinda psyched about that!!

Third Stop will either be in San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX depending on when we arrive in San Antonio, TX.

Then Fourth day will be a leisurely ride back to Houston...

That's if everything goes to plan of course....
My other ride is the International Space Station.

My comment is that you're proposing 3 very hard, long, and mostly boring days on the superslab.  If you both are fit enough, its certainly "do-able", but I'd question how enjoyable it will be.
Although you will have had a chance to fully check and adjust the FJ, and whatever other bike you're planning to ride - any problems or hassle with either bike will stuff your schedule.
And, the last time I was in Texas I got stopped for speeding by a state trooper and ordered to go BACK 100 miles to the previous town, and pay the JP the fine.
That would not be good with your ambitious long days.
I realize that there are not too many options WRT roads though that area, but I'd still add at least another day and spend some quailty time in some of those places you're planning to just wizz through.

Just my opinion, ride safe.

Cheers,
Arnie
