89 fj1200 carbs ?

OK when I ride my 89 fj1200 some times it fills like its only running on two plugs or like its loaded up. and when its doing this its leaking gas out of the overflow tubes under carbs. the bike will do this when its cold or hot . and other times it runs fine .I cant trust it for a long ride anymore. I think its the needle and seats but I don't want to take it apart till I get some more info on it any help will be cool. Thanks Russ covina cal  :dash2:

I can't say that it is the same cause that I had. Last summer I had a similar issue. I believed it was a float or two that was sticking and staying down. I removed my carbs, then the float covers and cleaned everything well with carb cleaner. Got it all back together and have not had an issue since.

Hey Russ, yea your bike is loading up from excess fuel. Yep float needle seats need to be removed and cleaned and importantly...new o rings installed on the needle seats. You might have dirt on your needle seat or you might have a knackered o ring. Best to do both and call it a day.

Welcome Russ, another SoCal member. I would offer to help with the carbs but I will be unavailable for the next 4 weeks. Many of us use Randy for FJ parts including carb parts and other custom bits.
