I've searched the internet for this and seems effective. Has anybody here tried this? Also what do you think is the most effective way of getting rust out of the tank?

I did this to  one of my fuel tanks. I used a pool winterizing plug(take the screw out and it has a hole in the middle), and a metal coat hanger. I left the charger on for 3 or 4 days, clean the hanger every 12 hours. Cleaned out the tank very well. Rinsed with MEK, then used Red-Kote on the inside.

Never used it on a motorcycle tank but have used that method for derusting dutch ovens and cast iron pot. Works great for that.
