Arse comfort/maintenance!!

  Since acquiring my '85 FJ in 2012 one of the best touring upgrades has been the installation of a Corbin Lady & Gunfighter saddle...

Some might remember, I had my first one reupholstered, before the start of last season, by a local guy who made a great job of it...and sold it to Paul over at the East end of Toronto...

I rode with the second one that I had picked up, which was originally done in leather...but it too needed reupholstering...

So I dropped it off with Joe, to once again, work his magic.

I picked it up yesterday...WOW... No suprise, what a great job he has done for me once again.

Saddle and back rest are done in Black leather with no seam piping and an extra layer of memory type foam added, sooooo smooth and comfortable...best $250.00 I've spent on the FJ in a while

Strange about the Corbin seats. You sit on one and you think, no way in hell...this seat is hard. My stock seat is much more comfortable....Untill you spend about 2 hours on a Corbin. Only then do you figure it out.

I agree 100% with John. For comfort, the single most significant improvement made to long distance FJs.

How does the memory foam feel on it?  I've been toying with the idea of buying a chunk of it (maybe a pillow?) and hacking it up for recovering a couple seats.  I'd think with a layer of that atop the firm foam of a Corbin, you'd have the best of both worlds, helping to hold you against the seat as well as being hard enough to avoid the curse of the 100 mile seat.

Yes, the seat on the FJ feels good to start with, but doesn't take long to grow teeth.

Even with all the good stretching exercises I was very sore doing 1000 miles days on it.

The Corbin is a great mod

Sorry Andy but due to a shit load of snow around these parts, I won't be able to give a 'ride report' for several weeks...On the 'static test', AHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh perfect ...

However, I'm very confident that the 1/4" - 5/16" covering of memory foam will be a great touring helper for my old ass and lower back

I'll try and get some pictures up...
