rear peg mount brackets?

Hello, can someone tell me if the 89 FJ rear peg mounting brackets will fit the 85 frames?
I see that the 89 brackets have the exhaust mounting holes  rearward of the peg mounts whereas the 85 exhaust mounting holes are forward of the pegs.
I'm installing a NOS 85 FJ  Jardine exhaust and need the mounts rearward of the pegs for a cleaner look.
I have to do some  fabrication, as the Jardine exhaust is for a stock swing arm, but I have fit a wider FZ arm on the 85

TIA
Tony

I don't know if it will help but the 89-90 FJ muffler mounting point is part of the cast AL. side plate.  If you need I can send you a picture as I have a muffler off on one side at present.  As a note the 91 -93 FJ sub frame has a extra brace to additionally support those cast AL. side plates toward the rear.

I should be able to check on the weekend I have the side plates for both an 84 and an 89 loose...If the bolt holes to the frame are all the same they should work.  I am always surprised at what does not interchange given that the models look close to the same.

I believe the 89' foot pegs brackets will work on the 84'-86' FJ's. I tried the reverse of what you are wanting to do on my 89'. What I found was, the attachment holes all lined up. The big difference is, the 89' brackets have rubber grommets in a couple of the mounting holes and will require the 89' attachment bolts, washers as they are not the same type of bolts and washers.

Are you using the new "Beta" version of flickr?
