I could be unkind here and suggest no one would have noticed, but the spell cheqkcre has not worked for a few weeks.
Any chance the powers that be could look into it?

Do you mean the automatic spell check or the one that you can select before you post. My work PC does not auto check spelling, my personal PC does. So I use the Spell Check option before I post from my work PC....

Firefox and Chrome both have a built-in on-screen spell check.  That is, as you type, like in MS Word, it'll red-underline the miss-spelled words.

Have not found a way to do that in IE, but then, who would use IE by choice anyway?

That explains it, IE on the work PC and Firefox on the home PC.... Thanks Dan.

The spell check you can select before you post, the one to the right of the "Post" and "Preview" boxes.

Mine works as normal ?  :good:
George

Just checked, it is now working again. I last checked yesterday when I posted. It had been out of action for several weeks.

Good, now I can resume the appearance of being educated again.

You do great Ken.  English is my native language and I can't spell worth a crap.  I am humbled by people that can speak and write in different languages.  You or anyone else will find no criticism from me.

Ken, we wouldn't know English wasn't your first language unless you reminded us.

I'm not sure if the paragraph below is fair to spring on you, but it's interesting.

Depending on your level of proficiency at reading English it can be read at normal speed and make perfect sense.

Take a look at this paragraph. Can you read what it says? All the letters have been jumbled (mixed). Only the first and last letter of ecah word is in the right place:

I cnduo't bvleiee taht I culod aulaclty uesdtannrd waht I was rdnaieg. Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whoutit a pboerlm. Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Aaznmig, huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghhuot slelinpg was ipmorantt! See if yuor fdreins can raed tihs too.

It says:

I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. Using the incredible power of the human brain, according to research at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total, mess and you can read it without a problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself, but the word as a whole. Amazing, huh? Yeah and I always thought spelling was important! See if your friends can read this too!

Just goes to show, spelling has little to do with being understood anyway.

Keep 'em rolling Ken, I enjoy you posts (in excellent English)

Your English is fine.  However, can you work on your avitar picture?  It's kind of creepy.  :-)
