Some of you may have seen this on my facetoob thingie, but I am spamming it around anyway.

"OK folks, you are not going to believe this... I signed up for the DAV5K run on November 9th. I am completely out of shape and unlikely to finish with a shred of dignity intact but its a good cause so what the hell. I planned to train for this but my annual fall sinus infection kinda screwed up those plans. I WILL finish but probably not too well.

If I did this right this is my "homepage" and more importantly a donation link...
http://donate.dav.org/goto/Bill

Give early, Give often, but most importantly, never ask me how it went..."

The DAV is a great org that does good work for US Vets. They also have their national HQ in my hometown so I am very familiar with them and the number of disabled vets they help and employ.

I will be honest I first decided to do this as a way to get a wellness discount at work as well as to do a good deed but now I am on a mission. I was criticized by a co worker who said that not only would I not finish the race, that I was not trying hard enough to raise donations. Screw him. I now have a new goal. The main page of the DAV has a running total of top individual fundraisers. I want to get as close to the top of that list as I can.

If you care to donate, thanks. If not... thanks for looking.

3 days to go and I just wanted to thank everyone who generously donated.

looks like I have nearly doubled my initial goal but would love to see a few more dollars go to this event.

in addition to the money raised a few of my friends  have decided to run themselves and are doing thier own thing.

Thanks again,

Bill Prodoehl
(tried to race but had way more enthusiasm than talent)
