Anyone seen/used these windscreens?

Leon, Can I ask how you like the deflector? does it help with wind noise? How tall are you? It's obviously adjustable? I'm 5'11" and just cant stand the wind noise anymore. Even with ear plugs, still really loud. I know I need a new helmet, was seriously looking at the Schuberth C3 Pro, supposed to be the quietest helmet on the market. Thoughts? Beaut of a bike btw.

Thanks
Andrew

Andrew, if wind noise is still unbearable with earplugs, I suggest you are using the wrong earplugs. Try some better plugs or get some custom made plugs.

....or not putting them in properly.

Do you twist them tight before putting them in your ears?

Even the cheapest plugs fitted correctly should minimise noise to a very comfortable level (and I have the buffeting "finned" screen and a notoriously noisy helmet) I can't ride at speed without them.

Has anyone tried one of these screens on an  89 model? Jeff

IMO, They are a trial and error proposition, and a personal preference. One type of screen works great for one rider and sucks for another. One windscreen is awesome for a rider that is 6'2" and makes a 5'8" rider's helmet howl with wind noise.

I used a MRA touring shield for awhile. Very well made, I think it looks great on the bike. My only complaint..(it is all about height). I am 5'7" and at highway speeds...70mph+ the airflow off of the screen made my head buffet.

I sold the screen to another member here. I am now using a Powerbronze flip screen. I like the looks of the MRA screen better, but the Powerbronze screen does not give me the head buffeting at 70mph+.

I needed to place an order for my 89. I wanted a touring one. These look cool/different.

Yep, installed on my 1993. Here is my review. Looks cool as heck, other riders think it looks cool as heck, but.....not so good on getting air flow up & over my 6ft high helmet/head. The flip screen, in it's most effective position puts the air flow at about eyebrow level. Helmet/head does not suffer from dreaded ping pong wind blast, but boy is wind defected by flip screen loud! While not perfect, better than laminar lip product. MRA has new flip that is wider. Have seen one on Honda Blackbird. Twisted Throttle sells em. JF
PS. We need to hook up and ride....I'm in Seattle.

Yeah youll have to keep me in mind for next spring onward. I live in north bend(whatever the forcast is its usually 3 times worse for us). So monsoon season will start any day now. When that happens the fj gets put way in garage ti probably March sometime.
