Newbie from New Zealand

Big Hello to all. Just joined the site and already have found the answers to a couple of questions I had. So much useful information here. I have recently bought my first FJ It's an 84 1100 which has had a 92 1200 motor fitted. I love it. The only down side is the vibration numbing my hands, I have already found lots of helpful hints on how to fix it. Off to the garage now to investigate. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome RF    Chasing vibrations is a challenge sometimes but I am sure you can reduce the problem with a little work and help. Always a learning curve with a new bike. Ask questions as they come up. There is a lot of good help here and some have owned and maintained there FJ's since new. You would be hard pressed to come up with a problem that someone hasn't heard about or fixed themselves.

More about myself?
I started riding just over 40 years ago. My first bike was a Yamaha DT360 which I learned to ride on my uncles farm. It was a vicious beast that kicked back like a brute and had trouble keeping the front wheel on the ground. Not a suitable bike for a skinny wee 14 year old with no experience. I traded it for an old Matchless with a shed load of parts. I tried scrambling it but I was useless at it. I ended up being pit crew for guys who could actually ride, that is where I started to learn about maintaining and repairing bikes . I built and rode a variety of Matchless based bikes, including various cafe racers an alcohol burning beach racer and a chopper with 23 inch overstock forks and a lurid metallic purple and yellow paint job. In my defence I must point out it was the early seventies.
I then built a 500 Triumph twin cafe racer. Following that I bought a brand new Ducati 450 single

We all have different stories to tell, it is fun to hear how others got to this point. The other fun part is the story is also continuing. More to tell later...

I,m a kiwi as well but jumped the the ditch in 2005, been in Aus since then.
Blenheim is home town, then Gore and Masterton.   
So where's home for you?
