For anybody that's close, there will be the "legend cars oval Nationals" this weekend. The best teams and drivers in the country will be there. Oh and me too.

I would have loved to come see this as I have not actually watched a legends car race.  Its a fair ride for me on a weekend that I'm booked up and unable to change things.  I heard that it is really something to see, if you haven't, yet.  So, I'm looking forward to seeing you race sometime!   :drinks:

Arnie

Bob,

What is the location of these races?
I'd hate to try and ride around the whole lake looking for mini race cars :-)

Lake Erie to Host Asphalt Nationals

Lake Erie Speedway in Pennsylvania has signed up to host the 14th Annual RACEceiver Legends Car Asphalt Nationals Sept. 29-Oct. 1. More than 250 Legends Cars, a 5/8-scale version of the 1930s-1940s NASCAR Modifieds, are expected at the three-eighths-mile, semi-banked oval for the prestigious Legends Car event. Lake Erie Speedway has hosted Legends Cars since it opened in 2001.
"Lake Erie Speedway is a perfect facility for Legends Car racing," said Darrel Krentz, executive director of INEX. "It is a wide, smooth track, and allows for spectacular racing. We expect record car counts, and an incredible level of competition at this year's Asphalt Nationals." The track has a 60 foot racing surface with a 12-foot apron all the way around the three-eights- mile oval with compound banking in the corners and six percent banking on the straights. The track can accommodate 7,000 race fans in its grandstands.

"We are extremely excited to be hosting the RACEceiver Legends Car Asphalt Nationals this year," said Joe Lewandoski, general manager of Lake Erie Speedway. "We feel that Lake Erie Speedway will be the perfect venue to showcase the talent or all of the top INEX competitors." Lewandoski worked with the Legends Cars at his former job as general manager of New Jersey's Wall Township Stadium, and is no stranger to the close competition of the series.

Fred Somers has been named race operations director for Lake Erie Speedway, and will be in charge of the Legends program at the track. Somers worked for nine years at Lancaster Raceway Park in Buffalo, N.Y. before coming to Lake Erie.

Lake Erie Speedway Legends regulars Rodney Harrower and James Rader, the 2004 track champion, are expected to be tough to beat during the event. Several Canadian drivers have expressed interest in competing for the coveted Nationals title including Andy Warbutton and Shaun Jennison.

More than $30,000 in purse money will be up for grabs at the Asphalt Nationals. The 2004 Asphalt Nationals were held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway's Bullring, and featured more than 250 cars competing for the title.

"In 2004, the Asphalt Nationals featured some of the best, most competitive racing I have ever witnessed," said Krentz. "I expect nothing less from this year's event. The fans at Lake Erie Speedway will not be disappointed."

In addition to the Legends Car and Bandolero program, Lake Erie Speedway hosts late models, trucks, street stocks and figure-8s on a weekly basis. The track also hosts special events including the ARCA RE/MAX Series, USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series and NASCAR Busch North Series for stock cars. It is part of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series.

Well I'm here, not as fast as I should/want to be. Found 7/10ths need a few more. Did a gear change see if that helps. Heat races today to finalize qualifying. Then the state champions race, can't wait for that one.
More updates to come.

Looks like he did pretty well. He won the B main even though he had a provisional starting place for the feature. After starting real deep in the field Bob rallied for a 12 place finish, unofficially at this time.

Congrats Bob and glad to have you as an RPM customer.

Nice work, Bob!

Don't worry about Travis... he's just a little butt-hurt over the Jets-Patriots game is all.

Sorry for slow response, was all by myself.

Friday was a wash for most of the classes. Everything happened on Saturday, and my phone sucks to post with.

I ran a 8 lap heat race that was rough, needed to replace both bumpers. Car was better, the more laps it ran.

Had my 20 lap race of champions race, haven't seen results for that one yet. 10th ish if I can remember correctly.

Then a 20 lap B main, I had to run to be able to use my provisional. That went awesome, started 2 jumped the first start, got the lead in coming out of 2 lead the first 13 laps then caution time. The rest of the race, not so easy. Lost lead coming out of 2 drove it in deeper than ever have. Got lead out of 4 got pushed around a bit. Another caution, got lead again, checker flag.  Felt awesome.

Then a 40 lap A main, was very tired by this time. The A mains were very rough red flags bad driving serious bad judgement by drivers. Decided to start from the rear. Not knowing if I could do 40 more laps.

Cruised around for the first 1/2 picking off cars slowly, lap 6 red flag. One of the worst wrecks I've seen. Right where I would have started. Raced hard the last 20 laps missed all the wrecks, thankfully.

Thanks to all that followed my progress.

Thanks randy for the all support, will be going to Vegas for RC Nat too.
