Ignition timing cover is cracked

Straight to the point, it is cracked across the face from 4 o'clock to 6 o'clock and all the way back through its thickness along the bottom rim.
There is a small amount of oil accumulated there but maybe that is blown back there from somewhere else forward of the cover.

Yamaha microfiche calls this the oil pump cover but it is the ignition timing cover, right?

I haven't taken it off but it seems to be made of plastic, not die cast metal.  Would a clean prep and JB Weld or similar keep this from getting worse?
Other suggestions? I see them online rarely and the price is over $100 and I don't see the rubber ring gasket included in that.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.

There should be no oil present behind the cover unless the crank seal is leaking.

It is aluminum and not plastic.

The gasket is not included, nor are the bolts.

I have several good used ones that I removed from the race cars.

Shoot me an email if you want a used one; randy@rpmacingca.com
