:hi: Hi all...just wanted to let you know about a wee jaunt my FJ and I took around Quebec, last weekend (sorry, no pictures as yet!!).

This was a planned Can Am ride, with three American and three Canadian friends, (The magnificent seven!! lol), who have ridden together for several years now...going back to our Yamaha Vision days :good:

The rides...(Can) '85 Yamaha Venture, '96 Suzuki RF900, Yamaha R6-R and my '85 FJ1100...(Am) 2013 Honda NC700, 2012 Ducati 1200 Multi-Strada and a 2012 BMW1200. Certainly some nice steeds eh :good2:

Four of us (3 x Canadians & 1 x American from NC!!) set out around 9.00 a.m. Friday morning, headed for Hudson Quebec...Apart from the parkway around Kingston (Ontario) that we ran for a few miles, most of the ride was on Hwy's 407/401...not very exciting but time line effective!!! Gas stops apart, we stopped in Kingston for a 'Wendy's' lunch. About an hour out from Hudson, we pulled over to don our rain gear as a storm was looming large...and minutes later, down she came!!! Heavy rain/thunder/lightening, the works :wacko3: We arrived at our destination non the worse for the rain which was now subsiding...go figure!! Rides in garage, rain gear and bike gear stripped off and it was time for beer, more beer, fooooood, more beer and good bye to a bottle of scotch...all interspersed with stories of rides past and catching up since we were all together last year :drinks:

Saturday...8.30 a.m. we all walked down the road for breakfast at a local restaurant before heading out for our days run. Now, I would love to give you a 'roads taken' report...but I haven't a clue which roads we rode :scratch_one-s_head: What ever roads we rode, were great and took us through some superb Quebec country side!!!...eventually leading us to the famous ski resort of Mont Tremblanc...our lunch destination (popcorn)  After lunch, via another lot of superb roads we ended up back at our hosts house around 6.30 pm..time to have a beer or two, change, have a beer and out to a wee Italian restaurant in the village for supper together. Back at the ranch, more wobbly pops, scotch and tales of our days ride....ahhhhh happy days :good2:

Sunday 8.30 am...A walk down the village for a great breakfast, back to the ranch to load up and set out for home...just an eight hour jaunt down the highway :wacko1:

Arrived home around 5.45 pm, stiff ass, tired but a happy camper :rofl2:  ...  :yahoo:

Total three day round trip of 1,586 kilometers (just under 1,000 miles)...and my old '85 stood up to the whole weekend with great aplomb...Damn proud of her :good2:

John.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

X-Ray

And thats all things a perfect ride is made of, even with the odd storm thrown in,  :drinks:
