You know I've been driving for 36 yrs. and it just amazes me at some of the accidents that happen. Most of them are caused by inexperience and just to much speed. We have a problem up here with(trying to be politically correct here) new Canadians who cheat to get their class 1 d/l. Lots of drivers just take way to many chances and try to beat the system, all that doe's is get you into trouble. Pardon my little rant here but it's frustrating to watch :shok:  Thanks Big R

Saw this yesterday on another forum, If been a OTR driver for many years, and have seen a bit of things, Hopefully the driver is OK, Don't know what the problem was, Driver? Mechanical?, More than likely? Driver error, Just my opinion

That was only about 10 miles from here.

The driver stated that he swerved to avoid a car and lost control.

He also had his 5 year old son with him.  No injuries.

Maybe you can answer being so close to where the accident happened, It appeared to be a ramp to exit a freeway from witch he came from, And crossed the intersection all the way across to the other side to the ramp to enter the freeway, Is this correct?, If so, He was traveling way to fast, Even if he had to swerve to avoid a car, Now I'm only basing this from what I've seen in the video, But Not being there to see the entire seen could show more info that might not be visible on the video

It's a standard diamond type interchange, with I-74 crossing under the secondary highway.  The semi was traveling on I-74 (truck speed limit there is 65 mph) when he swerved to avoid traffic (that he apparently should have been slowing down for), drove straight down the ramp at speed, and jumped completely over two lanes of the intersecting highway.  The fuel tanks were ripped off the truck by the center guard rail.  I haven't been out there, but it sure looks like he failed to brake at all.
