thanks for the input guys, but my dead spot is 8500rpm and up so we shall see..  the thing needs to be freshened anyways.. have any of you seen any dyno results from partially modded 1200s? im searching for 150 to 160 what is the best combo you all have found?

Did you ever have the bike on a dyno?

I'm not able to pinpoint your problem, but I'm thinking that your not standard exhaust could be of influence too.

A test on a dyno where they also measure your exhaust gases or your air/fuel ratio could tell you why it's not eager to run above 8,500 rpm.

No i have not, but it will be going to local dyno shop in spring.. my dead spot happens at 165mph guys   :wacko2: lol after the engine buidup i will post some hp readings.  It seems so strange to me that even though this engine has been put to use in so many racing vehicles you still cannot find any real world horsepower numbers for a mild engine build.. Oh well, i will just have to do it and see what happens.
