Hello all, just found this club and I wanted to say Hello to everyone all the way from Romania. Got my '86 FJ 1200 (classic red and white) last year, it's a great ride, and quite a switch from Honda. If I will ever figure how to post couple of pictures in this new topic, maybe I'll shoot out a question about an oil temp gauge that I have that's been mounted on the right side of the tank by the previous owner, as well as some kind of two-position switch that looks connected to the oil temp gauge, but I have no clue what it is for. I need to change the oil temp gauge, since it's busted, but if I knew what the switch does, it might help. Anyways, hello to all again!

:dash1: if someone can give me a tip on how to attach an image to this post, I would much appreciate it, I want to add couple of pics of the oil temp gauge and the switch attached to it and the wiring between them, so maybe someone with better FJ knowledge than me can help me figure this out.

Hello there and welcome mate.

Load up your pictures to a hosting site, such as  http://photobucket.com/ , this is what i use.
Once loaded up copy and paste the "img" code of your pictures, which is in a box on the right hand side, into your text that you are writing for this forum. Once you post the text the image will appear automatically when your text is read.
Hope you can understand that.

Welcome ! Glad to have you with us. It takes a little while to figure things out but you soon have it under control.
Any photos have to be posted to the WEB somewhere "Photobucket" is one place or you can go to the "Gallery" section and post your pictures there.

The photo's have to be JPEG.

When you make a reply or post something to the fourm you will be on a screen that has a bunch of "happy faces" (2 rows of them).

Go up to the 3rd row and click the second icon to the right , you will get "img http:/// img"

Here's the tricky part, you have to go to where ever your picture is posted on the WEB (Gallery section or Photobucket etc.) and copy the address of the photo. XXXXXXXblablaa.XXX.XXX.JPEG    paste that between the   "img  inset address  /img"  and it will show up in your post or reply.

Your photo address might look something like    http://fjowners.com/gallery/5/1651_06_07_13_10_00_47.jpeg    if you copy and paste it between the
"img  http://   /img"   then you get this:

Probably clear as mud but that's my best explanation !

Well, thank you guys, it looks like I managed, it worked like a charm, even though they seem a little small (probably Flickr compressed them). Anyways, in the first picture you can see the oil temp gauge and right above it a little switch, it has three positions, middle is 0, and then up is I, and down is II. I took a picture of the backside wiring, so you can see they are somehow connected. I need to change the oil temp gauge, since the little needle somehow broke off (probably vibration), but I wanted to know if any of you have any idea what would a switch be good for.

Welcome to the group.   :hi: Installing an oil temp guage has been done by a few members.
