What Battery Acid does to a connector

The connector for my fuel gauge has been eaten up by Battery Acid. The connector has been this way since I bought the bike and the fuel gauge has worked properly the whole time. I finally got around to repairing it. I used a 4 pin Molex connector from Radio Shack as a replacement. Here is a photo of the Acid eaten connector.

Its still good mate, nothing a wire brush and  dettol won't fix :scratch_one-s_head:
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it
