The Cougar has a 289 4 barrel bored .30 over, forged internals, Crane cam, EdleBrock performer carb and intake manifold, ceramic tri-y headers, 40 series flowmasters, roller rockers, ported heads, the list goes on there is so much done to that car its crazy. Even with me doing 90% of the work myself between the car, parts and what I paid for paint I am up to like $22,000 spent and I bought it for $750 lol.

A beautiful example of a car you just don't see every day. Very well done!

Lol, when I was in highschool my gfs best friend talked to her one day and was like who is the guy you have been walking with and kissing. She told her thats my boyfriend and her friend replied oh he is ok but not like hot or anything. She then the next day saw me leaving in the Cougar and went up to my gf and was like I saw your boyfriend leaving yesterday and I want to well had some choice words but said she wanted to wear me out lol.

Nice rig man. I love old fords, I had a 67 mustang all done up. It had a 302 bored 120 over with 10/1 pistons, crane roller kit, head shaved 30 thou, ported intake, big valves with a highrise and a 750 holley dbl. pumper. Also had 4.86 gears in a 9 in. posi. and a four speed out of a 68 cougar gt. I had a Mr. Gasket vertical gate shifter as well. Love my ford. Big R

Very Nice!
I love that body style of Cougar! More so even than the Mustang (because they are more rare) and I loved those sequential taillights!

Thanks guys, yep thats why I like it as well because it is a little different. I like owning things that are out of the ordinary. I think thats why I like the FJ because it is kind of a rare bike but people that know what they are will tell you they are awsome.

Wow, really nice, and really surprising. You see I too have a pair of cougars, both 1970's 351 Cleveland's.  We also share the DIY thing too.  This was my first car, bought in 1980 for $300 and everything except the C6 and final coat of paint (no place at the time do it) was done by myself.  Later I learned to paint and did my '71 scout (then my fathers, he bought it new) and a number of bikes for myself and brother.
I will work on getting a photo host account to post some photos.
Nice work!

Thanks, yeah I would like to see that. My dream is to open my own shop called Vaughan Customs just like my screenname here. I want to build like race cars, classics and bikes. I was a mechanic at one point but I hated working on cars were people HAD to have there car worked on enstead of wanting it worked on. Plus you would put brakes on a car and then complain in the next couple days that the alternator doesn't work and its your fault even though you didn't even touch it lol.
