I did the search function........ with no luck.
My question is where do you hook up the vac lines on the carb?  Ive read so many posts and ive looked at so many youtube vids but no luck.
The procedure has been explained many times....... its the hook ups im stuck on.

Not to hard, look down at your carbs on the bike,  between the carbs and the head there a 4 black intake manifolds,  on on top of those you will see one vacuum hose and 3 rubber caps. Bingo, you are there. That is your 4 hook up points.

For lack of inspecting......  Where does that one vacuum hose go to?

What year are we talking about?

I can't speak for all years but my 1990 go's to an emission control box that advances(?) the timing upon declelleration.  A lot of us disconnect and cap it.
On mine the vacuum control box was leaking and didn't function anyhow. The 1990 control box is separate, some of the early years it is inside the TCI. You can just cap it off at the manifold or hook it back up, your choice.

Some of the early years also have a vacuum controlled fuel valve at the petcock. The 88-93's (no 88's were sold here that I know of) have electric fuel pumps so no need the vacuum fuel control.

Its a 1991.
Ive read a little about removing it and capping the manifold plug.  Have you done it and did you notice any difference?

Yes I have plugged it.  Any difference ? No.  Just one more possible problem out of the picture. The hose is still there so I could hook it back up any time. It's not like you have to tear out anything.  I like to keep things simple and as easy to maintain as possible.  A few of the mods that I made are purely for ease of maintenance and to avoid a problem on the road.

I wonder how many FJ's have bad vacuum control box's and don't even know it.  The box is just a diaphragm with an on/off switch.  On your bike and mine it is located inside the fairing on the right side next to the CDI box.  No need to remove it.  It is just a small plastic box.
