I asked about this one today, after quite a few texes back n forward....it's been sitting about 7 years, no history at all, not even mot's....said it needs a starter, clutch and probably other things you'd find when starting to go through it to see what's what.

I asked for for serial numbers on the last mot, they said they didnt have it/them, but the mileage was genuine, how the hell do they know when there's no proof!!......they want £850 ($1330)....to much for what it is isnt it. They got it from a friend/neighbour that now has demetia and cant ask for the history ect....I think they're talking bollox

***yamaha fj1200, k reg (91/2), 11,500 miles on the clock. Needs slight attention but does run! One prev owner. Also comes with two side and one top panniers (kappa). Also leather tank cover and bag..... Can be seen running!
Lovely clean bike!!!

Stu, I'd be all over that for that price if it were here in Aus. I don't know enough about their value in the UK to give you an informed opinion.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

You would...must be me then

Stu,

It sounds like a great deal.... except for any potential legal issues.  Can you check to find out if it has been stolen?  Is there some proof that the seller actually owns it?

If the legal checks out, look very carefully at the bike to determine if that 11,500 miles is really 111,500.
I've got nearly that showing on my '91 and most people would accept the mileage shown as correct.

They said the log book's in their name, so apart from doing an hpi ect, there's nothing else I can do. Thing is though, it's 400miles from me so wouldn't be going just for a look, that's the problem
