Anyone from Texas ever made a trip to Big Bend? I'm planning a trip with two friends for two weeks from now, none of us have ever been. I'm going to try and hit most of twisted sisters on the way there, haven't yet plotted the way back, where I'm going inside big bend, or where my stops are. I'm thinking about 1200 miles round trip. 3-5 days, depending.

This is what I've got so far, for the way there.

Trying to incorporate as many rides from this site as I can, without making the ride too long:

I'll be making a report! :)

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

Big Bend is a park in Texas.

And in a couple days is June.

I am confused?

Colorado Rally is unlikely for me at this point because I have $20 to my name right now, and a friend that owes me about $70 that I can't get ahold of. Still, who knows? Maybe I'll hit it big right before and just barely be able to afford it again. It'd be about 2.5k miles of riding if we ride 400-600 miles. Probably $500 would do it. That's what I survived Washington to Texas (my route was almost 3k miles) for a month on.

Would like to at least rebuild my clutch, get a new rear tire, rebuild slave clutch cylinder, clean and rebuild my carbs with the $22 kit, get a new petcock, new valve cover gasket that doesn't leak before I go... But if I do all of that, I probably won't be able to afford to come.

Anyways, this trip to big bend might be covered. The guy running the trip owes me a lot of favors, so we'll see.
