Convert to XJR

I am thinking of converting my '86 FJ1200 to something that looks like an XJR.

Does anyone have any knowledge of doing this?  I want to remove the front fairing; convert the bars and install headlight, instrument cluster etc.  Will XJR parts fit the FJ?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Gilbert

The XJR uses a different designed frame. A 'backbone' type frame. Your FJ uses a perimeter frame. You can take off the faring off your FJ but you need to keep the front cross brace (forward of the forks, behind the headlight) in place because it is part of your perimeter frame. XJR's don't need this cross brace
So...In short, no you can't make your FJ look like a XJR unless you change the frame.

3) Replace your old stock rubber brake lines.

I'm sure it's been done, asked, flagged, etc before but is there a lightly customized swap-a-ble front end to update the front end?
