I was riding down the Crest today and pass another FJ (an 87) WTF? heading up. I turned around and dogged him down. His name is Bob, had his bike about a year and now just getting running and up to snuff. I told him about FJowners so I hope he signs up and joins the ranks. I could use another local rider to abuse in the twisties... Then, later in my trip I pulled over to set my GPS and a car stopped in front of and set the 4 way flashers and he got out. He said he has an 84' in really good shape that belonged to his uncle, mostly stock. He asked how best to sell it so I gave him the FJowners site as a start. I might be the new FJ enroller, along with the un-offiical greater. I wish I had my fuel delivery issue sorted out...

Good job FJmonkey keep up the good work. Sorry to hear you are still having fuel delivery problems. Fuel pump time?

Most likely a rookie mistake, I used the RPM adaptors & fastener kit to convert FP carbs to GF and swapped out my old needle seats and used the newer needles from the FP carbs. After all that messing around I failed to check the float levels.  :dash2: :dash2: :dash2:

Just install a fuel pump, problems solved. Then you would have a Monkey made fuel pump. What could be better than that. Monkey made products when only the best will do.

Sounds like a fun project, but I have had enough issues with out a fuel pump, I currently don't need one more thing that could go wrong. Maybe "Monkey pumps suck the most"  :bad:

I finally got my carbs sorted out. My failing to check and adjust the floats were the cause of my final issue. Last Thursday I took the carbs off, drained em, and pulled the bottoms off. All the floats were way too low...  :dash1: :dash1: :dash1: :dash1: I rode it today to verify that the floats were my final issue. I already had 80 miles in the tank, headed for places South to meet up with a group I ride with on occasion. On the slab at 70+ speeds, once I hit the 140 mile mark I was ready to pull over and look for a fill-up station. 150, no problems, 160, still good, 170 and still good, 180, no issues and looking to fill up. Yeah!!! The tank took 4.139 Gal. My 86 should take 5.8 when bone dry. That gives me 1.66 gal. still in the tank. I averaged 48 MPG today, so I had another 79.5 miles till bone dry. Wow, 260 miles on one tank. Mopar Man... Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.... Ha!! Thanks for your help Randy...
