Nice looking piece!

Mildly amusing that they lifted the mid-'70s Dodge Superbee logo too... ;)

Thanks guys. This bike has been a really fun toy for the past few years. After smashing all the bodywork off it last spring I decided to use seperate bodywork for street and track to minimize the expense of my next agricultural lesson.....

.. Of course after last weekend where I coached at a track day I might just rethink the idea and pick up a dedicated track bike. Normally at a track day you will get 7-20minute or so sessions on the track. It doesn't sound like much, but remember that you are absolutely focused and riding as hard as you possibly can. (otherwise whats the point?) It's surprisingly tiring.

As a coach I am required to ride in all Novice and intermediate sessions and if I want to play its usually done in the expert class. On Saturday I did 19 (out of 21) sessions and Sunday 17. Needless to say I am beat. I think its time to look into a lighter / more powerful track machine to ease the level of commitment a bit.

Hopefully over the next few days some pics from the event will surface, and I will be sure to post them up.

Frank. The forks and front wheel on my bike are from a 96 YZF600 (mines a 95) and have been rebuilt using race tech compression and rebound valves as well as race tech springs and bushings. I modified the compression adjuster for more adjustability and smoother flow as well. The Brake master and calipers are from an 01 or so R1 and were given to me by Jon Cain. I made the lines myself using Galfer parts. Like the FJ, the R1 calipers bolt right up to the YZF and work very well. I normally only use 1 finger (guess which one) for braking. I will snap a pic of the parts in a few days when I figure out who wound up with my camera.
