Gentlemen,

As previously noted (and shown in several videos) I have had the new rear shock developed by the gentleman from R.P.M. for some time now.  However, the weather has been inconsistent and true back country road riding has been limited to several thousand miles (of the 8,000 plus total miles on the shock).

This particular video has a variety of road types (sweepers and tighter turns) and the road surface varies from pretty good to downright awful.  As this was taken at the at the close of poor weather, there are places where the muddy tracks from dirt roads are still present which calls for extra caution.

I came upon the road where I turn left (and a new song begins) which is really unusual because the turns are inconsistent, making for a unique ride.  Top speed throughout the first song is low triple digit, once the second song starts mostly 80-90 mph range, just touching triple digit at times.  Other than drifting wide right at one point, it was uneventful.  Of note are the rock walls on each side; amazingly there is no mortar used and there are miles of them. Pretty nifty.

It is important to note that I installed new tires (winter type) 8,000 miles ago when the shock was installed.  I use several sets of tires each year and normally I do not get such life out of a set of tires.  But because of the tracking ability provided by the RPM suspension, tire wear is significantly reduced.

One of the main complaints of the heavy FJ is the front end 'pushing' the front end as you go through a turn; that is all but eliminated with the Fork Valves (and Fork Brace), making for smooth transitions and enhancing the ride.  And certainly I would not have such performance remaining after so many miles on a set of tires.

With spring and better weather here to stay, I will be installing upgraded tires which will enhance the capabilities of the suspension a considerable degree.

Overall, I believe the several varieties of road conditions in this video make for a sound representation of the ability of the suspension, both front and rear, developed by R.P.M and available to all.  It takes any type of road condition in stride; once I dialed in the settings suitable to my type of riding, I have had no need to change them, whether freeway riding or back country.

I can only describe the suspension as "active" because it compensates for any road condition and speed traveled.  It makes any ride most delightful.

I have taken several other videos which I will post as time permits for editing.

Ride safe,

Mike Ramos.
