Clockwise or Anti?

This one is simple if you know! Had the bike out today (it's snowing),bit rare on the west coast of ireland. Tweaked around with my idle last spin out and now it's a bit high. No problem except this time i have the full fairing fitted. Anyway looks like i can still reach the idler but i can't remember which way to turn it. Oh, and by the way it's feckin hot in there.

I just had to adjust mine, and used a long-handled standard screwdriver to "bump" the knob a bit.

Can't recall which way at the moment. If it went up slightly, then I went to the other side and bumped it back down.

Normally when the fairing is off i just put my hand in and twiddle a bit. When the fairing is on i can just get a finger to it, which should be enough but which way?

Screwing the idle speed adjuster IN (clockwise if you're laying on the ground looking up through the engine with your X-ray vision at it) will INcrease the idle speed.  Wear a glove to help prevent burns.

If you open the throttle slightly it lifts the screw from its rest and makes it much easier to turn.

I also find a gloved hand and two fingers gives the best control.

I can, and have, adjusted mine while sitting at a red light.

Just rebuilt my carbs' and when I went to adjust my idle speed at a stop light, the damn screw was tight as hell.  :mad:

And Yes!  It was hot.

All sorted gentlemen, gave it a little tweek while it was cold and gave it a good roasting for 50miles. Ticking over steady now at 1100rpm.

What revs do they or rather are they supposed to idle at?

1000 to 1100 ,, should be about right
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it
