Help me fix up my FJ1100 and I'll fix any/all computer problems you may have!

Hey guys,

I've got an FJ1100 that needs the fork seals done as well as the head steering bearing.  I've done very little in the way of bike work in the past and would love for someone to come show me the ropes and teach/help me do these things.  I can offer perhaps a little cash, as much beer as you can stand, and also fix ANY (and I do mean any, I've done this for far too long) computer problems you may have, or even work with you to build you a great new computer should you want it.

Anyone wanna take me up on this?  I'm located in Country Club Hills, IL  60478.  About 35 minutes from the loop in Chicago.

try this on your fork seals 1st to see if it'll fix them. It worked on mine and is cheap.

I saw that and thought about it, since they started leaking about 2 months after I had them done... however, if I'm gonna pull it apart for the head steering bearing, anyway, might as well just do them right.  At least, that was what I figured.

try this on your fork seals 1st to see if it'll fix them. It worked on mine and is cheap.

I'm curious if you changed your fork bushings when you changed your seals?  I've heard that some have similar outcomes to yours --change just the seals and not the bushings and then have a the new seals start seeping again.  I was fortunate enough to get the advice here to change the bushings too when I did my fork seals.  Yes, 3 years now and no leaks.

As far as the seal mate, you can make one out of a negative film strip and cut it to have a bit of a hook in it.--same idea.   If you can find some old negatives....  It might give you a quicker answer than ordering one.  Then, If that doesn't solve your problem, you can order your seals and bushings from Randy at RPM

There is a kit just for this including the bushings and seals.  Then buy yourself a seal mate at that time while you're paying for shipping.  I doubt you'll beat the prices and guarantee you won't beat the service.

I cut up one of those containers they sell prepared food in at the grocery stores, the transparent plastic one. Works great...., + I have a couple spares, one in my off-road fanny pack, one in the FJ tool wrap, etc.....
