Hello I a fng with a 85 1100 out of 8 yr storage. The 1 year PO cleaned tank half assed and carbs.
He put in new battery too.
Anyway, oil had not been changed for prob 10 yrs. he said it looked clean in window. Wrong, I've never
Seen smellier oil. One gallon of old oil came out? I changed that and fixed rear tire, bad valve.
Tank and carbs are off. They look pretty good I think. Not to buggered up.
I've been reading for 2 hours and am sure that I read on fjowners about a blow test to basically
Test diaphragms. I turned carb rack upside down not removing bowls or anything and blew into main fuel line
And had gas coming out from multiple areas and could hear major hissing.
Help me, I would like to try this test before I tear into these carbs.
Thanks dave

i think and others we correct me if im wrong....IF you turn the carbs upside down the  floats come off their respective seats and allows air to pass straight through (or fluid if connected). the rubber diaphragms are located in the top of the carb all you need to do is ( to check the rubbers) is remove the tops (one at a time...just saves f*** ups) unscrew the 4 screws on each top and slide the rubbers and slide, needle all out and using a Mk.1 Eyeball look for any cracks or detereriation... there are steps to follow and with full colour piccies that i think from memory Randy posted up here. step by step full instructions. relax it may not be that bad if bad at all....
hope this helps

Some people's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back that is an outrage.
