I'm a newer member and many don't know me yet, but wanted to show you what happened last night.
I was coming home at 11pm from throwing darts at a bar I go to on Thursdays, and was hit by a drunk driver
who was traveling the wrong direction on the road. I had just turned on to the
road and only had gone about 200 yards before I saw him coming my way.  I swerved right, he swerved the same, I swerved left
and he got me.I walked to the ambulance with only a bruised knee from the dash
and sore chest from the seat belt. I remember watching the airbag inflate. It was weird. the bag didn't hit me
I guess because my seat was far enough back and my arms were straight. My 95 Acura didn't fair to well. She
was doing very well for a 95 with 208,000 miles.May she rest in peace.
They took the other guy to jail. Plus I find out he doesn't have insurance . My front end work on
the bike will be put on hold for a few days. You can see the progress in the projects section.

Sorry to see this. Glad you are not hurt. I hope it will turn out OK for you. I can guess it is upsetting to say the least. Keep us posted. No insurance *&%^^%^&^&$.......

Glad you are ok John, that's by far the most important part. Hope you get a attorney who will investgate and find this guy's assets and then get a big ass judgement against him in civil court.

The DA will probably (depending on priors) give this clown some jail time and minimal restitution, but as we all know, civil court can be a bitch.

Pop quiz: Who is the only 5'4" 150lb Jewish man to own a Heisman trophy?

Ron Goldman's dad.

Yea, civil courts are a bitch.    Go get him.  Don't worry about the FJ. We will be here when you are ready.

Cheers.  Pat

Glad to hear you were minimally injured, obviously it could have been much worse.  The Acura did what its designed to, sacrificing itself.  Our minivan was totaled last October by a drunk driver at 1130 in the morning.  Our two youngest wer in the van with my wife.  The insurance adjuster was amazed that no one was hurt and said she almost cried when she saw the car seat in the back seat.  Luckily, the other driver had insurance, but regardless, GEICO paid us quickly.

The other driver was arrested, charged with multiple offenses, then didn't show up in court.  Bench warrent was issues, for what thats worth.

You hate to hear similar stories. I definitely don't want to be in an accident again. In my case, the guy that hit me shows that you shouldn't drink and drive. Feeling better today, went to work, knee is just sore. An 89 fj1200 came to me in a deal that I couldn't pass up. Didn't need another one, but couldn't say no when it was only $500, for a complete bike that hasn't been ridden in about 6 years. I'll post when I get photos.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Good thing you were driving the Acura and not the FJ.

Smokin' deal on the 1200.  :dance2:
